A genuine converter, not a rename: your DOCX is parsed (text, structure and embedded media) and re-rendered into a brand-new PDF with selectable text — entirely inside your browser.
How it works
- Select a Word .docx file (legacy .doc is not supported).
- The document is parsed locally, then laid out onto A4 pages in a Web Worker.
- Download the generated PDF — original-name.pdf.
Good to know
- Supported formatting: paragraphs, headings 1–6, bold, italic, underline, font sizes (mapped to the closest standard size), left/center/right alignment, bulleted and numbered lists, simple tables with borders, embedded PNG/JPEG images, and natural multi-page pagination.
- Honest limitations: complex floating objects, SmartArt/WordArt, headers/footers, tracked changes, comments, macros, OLE objects and exotic column layouts are simplified or skipped. Tables render as bordered grids with equal column widths; images inside table cells are not drawn.
- Text uses standard PDF fonts (Helvetica family); characters they cannot represent are replaced and counted in a warning where applicable.
- The output contains real, selectable, searchable text — it is not a screenshot-style rasterization.
- Every step runs locally in your browser using Web Workers — your file is never uploaded to any server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert Word to PDF?
Drop your .docx into the tool, press Convert to PDF, then download. Everything happens on your device — the file is never uploaded.
Does it support old .doc files?
No, and we say so up front. Only the modern .docx format is supported. Re-save legacy documents as .docx in Word first.
Will tables and images be preserved?
Tables become bordered grids with wrapped cell text, and embedded PNG/JPEG images are placed at their display size. Complex merged-cell layouts are simplified to a uniform grid.
Is the formatting identical to Microsoft Word?
Not pixel-identical, and we do not claim that. Core content and structure are faithfully converted; advanced Word-specific rendering (floating objects, section layouts, custom themes) may differ.
